Because children and young people make up more than half of all war rape victims;
Because children and young people deserve coherent and consistent international advocacy on conflict-related sexual violence issues;
Because there is a lack of awareness and support for children born from rape and other especially vulnerable persons facing sexual violence in conflict, including: LGBT, disabled, and orphaned youth;
Because the youth voice is routinely excluded from national and international dialogues, peace processes, and post-war reconstruction;
We, the members of Youth to End Sexual Violence will work to:
- Demand fearless political leadership, on behalf of children and young people, to end impunity for conflict-related sexual violence crimes and empower survivors;
- Connect young people to governments, civil society organizations, and other youth-led initiatives around the world to increase their representation;
- Facilitate an international network through which young people will work together with the best technical and creative minds to bring innovation and fresh energy to designing and implementing community based solutions to sexual violence in conflict.
